Magic & the Full Moon

On the Old World Witchcraft site Dacha Avelin writes:
February's Full Moon is often called the “Snow Moon" in folklore traditions throughout the Northern Hemisphere because of the heavy snowfalls that are common this late in the winter.
A Supermoon is a Full moon that occurs when the moon is at its closest point to Earth in its monthly cycle around the Earth. This is the second of three Supermoons in a row, but this one will appear significantly larger than the upcoming March Supermoon. You will notice you have an unusually high number of projects, promises and obligations around this time. Time will feel like it’s running out  - but that is merely an illusion.
The brightly moonlit evening of the February Snow Supermoon reminds us to be kind to all living creatures and to nurture the Earth with greater empathy. You will notice an increased sensitivity to your surroundings (light, scent, vibration) and your compassion for the world around you will grow. Now is the perfect time to graciously stand up for what you believe in.
This Virgo Supermoon carries a very special energy for healing all emotional wounds, gaining clarity and attaining worldly justice. Some will crave shelter from the horrors of the world, while others will finally embrace their inner Warrior.
Performing a Sacred Full Moon Ritual will ease your nerves and will align you with your highest good. This magickally potent moment of the moon cycle is ideal for smudging your home with Juniper to welcome happiness, Rosemary to protect your family, Lavender to bless and Roses to awaken the love within.
If, however, you are choosing not to perform any magick on the night of the Full Moon, simply sitting under the moon rays and energetically absorbing the magnetism will reawaken and enliven your spirit.
In case you're not prepared for to do the ritual this upcoming Full Moon, your next chance will be on the Spring Equinox Full Moon of March 20th!

I particularly enjoy Banishing Rituals during this time. Not because I necessarily believe there is more to banish, but because I notice it brings an immediately sense of clarity. In the days to follow, life realigns itself back to the correct path. People with ill intentions leave, experiences that are not for my highest good seem to dissipate and overall stability and power return in their full force.
If you’re wanting to perform a Banishing Ritual, I advise you to do so during the Dark Moon between evening of March 5th and late morning of March 6th. If possible, add 1/2-1 teaspoon of Agrimony Powder to your bath following the ritual.
For the Banishing Ritual statement, I use the following wording - feel free to use it as well!

“I now banish and permanently remove those with ill intentions from my life. Those who bring me sorrow or stress are now gently redirected away from me. I now banish and permanently remove all draining residual energies and entities that are around my energy field. Toxic ideas and beliefs that I have inherited are now in the past. I clear the path for my beautiful future.”

Think of this as energetic spring cleaning.
